There's A New Market In Town!

Sometimes when everything is moving around me so quickly, I need to take a step back, breathe deeply and count to 10. Or 20.

I have found myself doing this many times this week as we countdown to the soft launch of the Quarry Farmers & Ranchers Market at 8 am this Sunday, May 1.

It's exhilarating to see something that was once just a morsel of an idea we tossed around, poked at and prodded for a few months come to fruition.

In case you've missed any of the amazing press coverage we've received, here's some links to get you up-to-date:

We also received a nice write-up in the June issue of San Antonio Magazine, which is on the newsstands now.

We've put together a great collection of vendors and each week, as new produce and seasonal products become available, they will arrive at the market. Like tomatoes, peaches and melons...oh my!

By the grand opening on June 5, we'll have a wide assortment of over 20 vendors featuring the finest farmers and ranchers in South Texas.

We'll be in the parking lot of the Quarry Market (255 E. Basse Road), adjacent to Whole Foods Market every Sunday from 8 am until sometime after noon.

This week's featured vendors include:

9-1 Produce Farmfarm fresh produce from Devine
Edelen Farmsgrass-fed beef, free-range chickens and eggs, pastured pork, raw honey and jams and jellies
Good Gluten-Free Foodsgluten-free baked goods, both sweet and savory

And, naturally, Cowgirl Granola will be there, too.

Live musical entertainment will be provided by Sergio Leal, an extremely talented guitar player who will dazzle you with his Latin-Jazz fusion sounds.

So swing by, listen to the music, buy some great locally grown, raised and produced foods and meet our vendors. Ask questions and let them tell you about what they do, why they do it and why it matters to buy and eat local. I'd love for you to stop by my tent as well and say hello.

We look forward to seeing you soon...

Buen provecho!
